Premio AFIRME-FUNAM, Fundación UNAM, 2025 (5th edition). First place, research work category. Awarded for the work “Hacia modelos crediticios justos, transparentes y adaptativos por medio de aprendizaje por refuerzo multiobjetivo”, which develops credit decision models that are fair, transparent, and adaptive using multi-objective reinforcement learning.
Google Academic Research Award, Google, 2024. Awarded for the project “Community weavers of artificial intelligence and nature-based solutions: a grassroots-participatory AI approach to urban transformations towards sustainability”, which develops participatory AI methods for urban sustainability with and for local communities.
Third place, doctoral thesis contest in artificial intelligence, Sociedad Mexicana de Inteligencia Artificial (SMIA), 2019.
Premio Arturo Rosenblueth, CINVESTAV-IPN, 2018. Awarded for the best doctoral thesis in computer science at CINVESTAV-IPN.
Premio Estatal de la Juventud Nayarit, Government of the State of Nayarit, 2018. Awarded in the academic achievement category.
